How can I register?

Please note: the registration is valid only after we receive the entry fee. There is not waiting list for the event.

How do I know whether my registration got accepted?
All submitted and paid registrations will be verified by us and will receive a confirmation via separate e-mail. The start list (race numbers) will no be published before June 20, 2013. We kindly ask to please refrain from contacting us regarding your registration status before that.

Mode of classification:

The classification result from the actual order on the finishline. This specification is due to the overall classement, respectively in the age-group categories. The winner of each age-group is eliged to carry the title of the “Open IRONMAN European Champion”, independent of the athletes’ nationality. For the classification/prize money it’s irrelevant if the participant is European Citizen or not.

Cutoff (15 hours):
Swim: 2 hours 20 minutes (wetsuits allowed, if water tempertature <24,5 C)
Bike: 10 hours after start of the race
Run: 15 hours after start of the race

Race Category Status:

All competitors are required to declare their race status (professional or age group athlete) on the application form prior to any IRONMAN race. Professionals are required to present a valid IRONMAN PRO Membership. Registering as a professional at any race during the Qualifing Year (September 1 trough August 31) means, you must race as professional in IRONMAN Hawaii in that Qualifing Year. An athlete that qualifiers for IRONMAN Hawaii as an age group athlete and is determined to be a professional during the Qualification Year of the event, will not be allowed to compete in IRONMAN Hawaii, as he has not qualified for as a professional triathlete.

Hawaii-Qualification:

Frankfurter Sparkasse IRONMAN European Championship allocates 100 slots for the IRONMAN World Championship 2013. If you qualify in the 2013 edition of Frankfurter Sparkasse IRONMAN European Championship you are eligible to compete in the IRONMAN World Championship 2013 only. All competitors who wish to make use of their qualification slot have to be present at slot allocation taking place July 8, 2013 at 12:00 am. As not each competitor will make use of his slot, other athletes will advance in the respective age group till all slots are allocated. The organizer emphasizes particularly that he has the last decision as to this allocation of slots. The entry fee for Hawaii 2013 is US $ 775 and has to be paid during the Slot allocation in Frankfurt on July 8, 2013, in cash Euro only (final assessment for Euro will be published in teh race week). No checks or credit cards are accepted. Please show a valid pictureID.

SLOT ALLOCATION POLICY:

At least one slot shall be allocated to each five-year age group category in which any age group athlete sends in an application, both male and female, per the age group categories listed above. If there are no athletes entered in the race in a particular age group, then that slot will be moved to the largest populated age group in that same gender. For additional age group slots, slot allocation shall be representative of the actual number of age grouper applicants in each category in the race. As an example, if 8% of the age-group applicants are females 40-44, then 8% of these slots would be allocated in the female 40-44 category.*

Regulation from World Triathlon Cooperation (WTC):

Starting in 2009, the Ford Ironman World Championship and all qualifying events will implement both the International Triathlon Federation and USA Triathlon´s Age Group Competition rule, which states that “All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete´s age on December 31 of the year of the event.”

*Final slot allocation will be posted on the event website and at the race site the day before the race. The number of slots per category might be slightly changed later on based on the exact number of applications per category.

    About the event

    More than 2,500 athletes from 51 nations will face the challenge of the Frankfurter Sparkasse IRONMAN European Championship. 2,4 miles swim in Waldsee Langen, 112 mile bike in the surrounding of Frankfurt and a 26.2 mile run on the banks of Main River with a finish on the famous Römerberg.
